The Bell Planning Commission consist of five members that are appointed by the City Council. The Planning Commission was created to insure and enforce the City's general plan, zoning code, development of guidelines, and other laws, as well as goals and policies for directing and managing future growth and development of real properties located within the City.
Additionally, the Planning Commission is tasked with reviewing and taking action on discretionary entitlements. In this process, the planning commission conducts a noticed public hearing, considers facts presented by the staff and the public, and makes findings to either grant or deny the applications. Examples include applications for a General Plan amendment, Specific Plan, zoning amendment, Development Plan, conditional use permit and variance.
The Planning Commission meets every 1st Wednesday of the month at 7pm in the Bell Community Center, 6250 Pine Avenue, Bell, CA 9021. In compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), if you need special assistance to participate in this meeting, please contact the Community Development Department at (323) 588-6211, Ext. 2615, at least 48 hours prior to the scheduled meeting in order for the City to make reasonable arrangements to ensure accessibility to this meeting.
The Agenda for the Planning Commission is posted on this website 72 hours before the scheduled meeting unless it is a Special call meeting then it is posted 24 hours prior to the meeting, as required by law.
