City Clerk

The Office of the City Clerk ensures that City records are accurately maintained and preserved in accordance with the City Charter and applicable laws. The Office also provides support and information services to the City Council, the public, and City staff. Key responsibilities include:

  • Preparing and distributing City Council and Planning Commission agendas and materials
  • Processing and publishing legal notices for public hearings and ordinances
  • Maintaining and updating the City’s Municipal Code
  • Receiving and filing subpoenas, claims, and lawsuits
  • Serving as Secretary to the Planning Commission
  • Managing the City’s records management program
  • Administering all general and special municipal elections
  • Serving as the local Filing Officer for the Fair Political Practices Commission (FPPC)
  • Ensuring transparency and public access to the City’s legislative processes
